2005-10-29 [Rondel]: Well, it's Hallowe'en (Samhain, what have you) again, and Halloween costume stories remind me of the year and a day which my husband and I spent in a Wiccan coven; that Halloween, we went to a party at our coven-sisters' house dressed as fundamentalist Christians and gang-saved people at the front door. But we did it too well and creeped people out, so we changed partway through the evening (into nice normal ritual robes). No offense meant to those who ARE Christians; we just figured that if Christians were dressing up as witches, we ought to reciprocate. ;D It is, after all, one of the scariest costumes we could think of... LOL ...even chose suitable bibles from among our collection!

I don't usually self-describe as "witch" anymore (too many assumed meanings that aren't me), but I still cherish the memory. Ken was being groomed (by his family) to become the fundamentalist Christian minister, for real, which his nephew actually became. He makes a scary bible-thumper, I'm glad he broke free and it was just an act. In our costume/acting days, he also made a scarily believable crazy homeless (vampire) guy... ...there's something about knowing the real thing that makes the act scarily believable. LOL

2005-11-06 [Rondel]: You're very welcome, [Delladreing]. :) I had heard of Inkubus Sukkubus by way of the (now late and lamented) publication Green Egg, and went searching for their music ever afterward, until I finally found them on the web. We've been collecting their music (and recommending it to others) ever since. A little dark and gothic for me, in places (especially the vampire cross-over stuff -- I *LIKE* that kind of music, but it is not a full representation of my spiritual beliefs), but still WONDERFUL stuff. I particularly love "Awa' with the Faeries", "Samhain", "Wytches", and "Our Dark Mother", off the top of my head. Wendy Rule is another artist who I'd recommend to those who enjoy Ink./Sukk.
